A sliders job in life is to help protect other components in the event of a crash, specifically the frame. Many are so badly designed, they can cause more damage than they save! Woodcraft crash sliders, as usual for them, are a touch more thought out than most. They are constructed in two parts and have several design benefits.

• Easy assembly and removal. After crashing you just replace the slider puck and not the entire unit.The pucks are relatively cheap and are fixed with a bolt through the side of the unit, this way you can always get access to it, so it can be removed after damage. Other manufacturers are fixed with just one bolt straight through the centre. Once the slider is forced over to about 45 degrees and the plastic slider is distorted, its a nightmare to remove! A far better design we think.
• Extremely durable. Their patent pending side attachment design allows the slider to be solid rather than hollow like conventional designs. This solid slider provides nearly 50% more material to grind down before replacement is needed.
• They are relatively short too. Most other units are too long and whilst you might think this gives you extra protection it has a rather different effect. It provides additional leverage for the crashing bike to rip the engine mount clean out of the slider! No slider can ever guarantee not to do this, but the longer the puck the more likely it is to happen!
