Fitting a set of braided stainless steel brake lines to your motorcycle can have a dramatic effect on your motorcycle's stopping power.
The initial onset of braking will be much quicker since stainless steel brake lines don't expand at all.
Because the brake lines are sheathed in metal (usually with a protective plastic outer coating), you don't have to worry about stainless steel brake lines cracking from age and exposure to the sun. Also, the Teflon interior line is less prone to becoming brittle than rubber brake lines.
Stainless steel brake lines do look cool but also consider this - a GSXR1000 can do a standing quarter mile in 10.8 seconds with a terminal speed of 138mph. Yet the brakes can do the same amount of work in reverse, in 6.8 seconds. |
